Averda partners with all women recycling group – promoting environmental sustainability and job creation
Averda has collaborated with All Women Recycling, a women-run Cape-based business providing sustainable and profitable business solutions for unemployed women across the southern suburbs community.
Working towards a sustainable future, Averda provides All Women Recycling with 1 and 2-litre PET bottles which are upcycled into trendy and versatile eco-friendly gift boxes, called kliketyklikboxes™.
“The kliketyklikbox™ project came from my desire to create a sustainable and profitable business, while supporting the environment and empowering women with life, business and sales skills. Women who have been unemployed for longer than two years are taught how to create these boxes,” says Lynn Worsley, founder of All Women Recycling.
“In 2016, we diverted over half a million bottles from landfills. Together with Averda, we are certain to have a bigger impact and hope to see plastic-bottle-free landfills in future,” adds Lynn.
“Averda believes in playing an active role in South Africa’s waste management and environmental challenges through recycling. In this way we hope to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment that results in better lives for communities,” says Francois De Clercq, General Manager of Averda in the Western Cape.
Approximately 350 Kliketyklikboxes™ are produced daily by the women of All Women Recycling. The company supplies over 30 retail outlets across the world in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, UK, USA, Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Belgium and Luxemburg.
